Agricultural Consultants
With the Agricultural Advisors program, farmers are given the opportunity for the first time to obtain free agricultural advice so that production can be directly linked with the necessary scientific support. The farm advisory system aims to support farmers and ranchers through the provision of personalized advisory services to improve the economic and environmental performance of their farm or business, without incurring any financial burden themselves. Specifically, the institutional framework is defined with sub-Measure 2.1 “Use of advisory services in the agricultural sector – Support for obtaining benefits from the use of advisory services” of the Rural Development Program of Greece 2014-2020 (RDP). A Farm Advisory System for land management and farm management is hereby established, while the provision of agricultural advice is strengthened. Objectives are: 1) Farmers and especially young farmers to improve the sustainable management and overall performance of their farm and to be supported to make the right decisions for the overall technical – economic and environmental management of their farm. 2) To encourage the use of advice by farmers and young farmers, without them being burdened with the cost of the advice.
